Trump continues to revisit what was once a reliably red state, while the Harris team views it as "very much in play
With only three days until the election, former President Donald Trump’s campaign remains uneasy about his chances in North Carolina, a Sun Belt state he has won in the last two presidential elections.
When asked for the reason, a Trump campaign official didn’t mince words.
If there’s one state that could come back to bite you, it’s North Carolina," the official said.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris' team, which less than two weeks ago worried the Tar Heel State was "slipping away a bit," now views it as "very much in play," according to a senior campaign official.
These contrasting perspectives surfaced as both campaigns arrived in North Carolina, where the candidates rallied supporters in a tight, margin-of-error race that has heightened the stakes in every battleground. Recently, Trump has veered into states like Virginia and New Mexico in the campaign’s final days, claiming he could broaden his map.
